Week In Review: Time’s First AI Agent Ads, Meta’s 27% AI Ad Revenue Growth and Omnicom’s Q2 Puts Agentic Marketing at its Centre

Welcome to Week In Review
From new tools transforming creative work, to campaigns reshaped by automation, we track the biggest shifts at the intersection of AI, media, and marketing. This week, Time’s first AI agent ads, Meta’s 27 percent AI ad revenue growth and Omnicom’s Q2 puts agentic marketing at the centre of its growth story.

Top Stories of the Week

Time Becomes First Publisher to Serve Ads to AI Agents
Time has begun serving ads specifically targeting AI agents, working with AI-powered ad tech platform Mobian to convert its markdown pages — stripped-down, text-only copies designed for AI systems to read — into an inventory surface for advertisers. Ally Bank and Project Management Institute are among the first buyers, first reported by Digiday, with the ads formatted as FAQs containing brand information and messaging, labelled as sponsored content. Time currently sees more bot traffic than human traffic most days, and its sales team is already pitching agent ads to brands that have converted their own corporate websites into markdown files.

Why it matters:
The agent ad product is Time’s attempt to monetise the AI crawler traffic that has replaced some of its human audience — turning a structural problem into a potential revenue stream. The unanswered question is whether LLMs will treat these ads differently from editorial content, or eventually penalise promotional material in markdown pages the same way Google cracked down on manipulative SEO in the 2010s.

Omnicom’s Q2 Results: Agentic Marketing at the Centre
Omnicom reported Q2 2026 core organic revenue growth of 6.1 percent and raised its full-year organic growth outlook to 5 percent, with CEO John Wren explicitly positioning agentic marketing transformation as the first of three strategic priorities driving the company’s next phase of growth. Integrated media and experiential services led by growing more than 10 percent each, while the combined Omnicom-IPG entity is on track for $900 million in cost synergies in 2026 and $1.5 billion by mid-2028.

Why it matters:
The explicit framing of agentic marketing transformation as the company’s primary growth lever signals that the holding company race is now being fought on AI capability as much as creative reputation. This week’s earnings season is delivering the clearest evidence yet that AI is shifting to a measurable driver of financial performance.

Meta’s Q2 Earnings: AI Drives Strong Ad Revenue as Costs Weigh
Meta reported Q2 2026 advertising revenue of $59.4 billion, up 27 percent year-on-year, with AI-powered tools — particularly its Advantage+ campaign suite — cited as a key driver of both impression growth and pricing. Ad impressions across Meta’s family of apps rose 14 percent year-on-year, with the average price per ad up 12 percent, driven by AI-powered ad performance gains.

Why it matters:
Meta’s results offer the clearest picture yet of what AI-powered advertising looks like at scale — 27 percent ad revenue growth and a $75 billion Advantage+ run rate are not pilot numbers. For marketers, the signal from Advantage+ is significant: AI-automated campaigns are outperforming manually managed ones consistently enough that Meta is now structuring its entire product roadmap around them.
